Briefly describe the new skills you acquired which will enhance your individual working routine.
New ways to work with other people from different countries.
Team working, renovating, understanding and solving a problem.
It was the First time I work ed With a 3D scanner.
I haven't really worked with a CNC maschine before so that's definitely something new to me and programming it was quite a challenge.
A better knowledge for usine solid works and alphacam.
I learned a lot about programming the cnc, as well as some few new hand working skills.
None, i already did this in a training period, but it was good to do it with other people from other country.
I think working with shaper was quite a nice to know.
Especially the Shaper Origin was on my task - so I did a small work with this machine.
Learned a lot new things about Autodesk Fusion and about 3D-printing.
Working with the shaper.
Understanding about window frame programing. Different routine in cnc machining proces.
Everything about this week has strengthened my knowledge and skills.
I’ve learned to work with the solid works cad program and how to export it to alpha cam. I learned the methods of old wooden windows. How to measure the deterioration and which parts to pick to renew.
I learnt how to handle existing objects and renovating them, and not do something completly from the beginning like we always do it. It’s interesting to adjust to the given Situation, measurements etc. In my company we also renovate many old windows so I definitly can use the new learned knowledge.
I learned new things about CNC, and it was interesting.
I learned how to work with the OSB Studio software to produce some video for the project.
I raised my skills with Shaper. For example how to get a DXF File on the Shaper Tool.
I now know how to transfer Data in different format between different CAD-Software and the CAM-Software AlphaCAM.
Working with new techniques that I haven’t tried before, recreating an existing piece, the milling on the CNC. Eye opening!
Learning how to restorate an old window really expanded my knowledge on how to work with old and fragile pieces.
I can now take a measurement of an old component, create a drawing in solidworks and then manufacture a new component on the CNC.
I learnt to draw 3D profiles in SolidWorks. I learnt how to evaluate old Wood condition.
We had the opportunity to work independently and create different products according to our taste and needs. Some took advantage of it and improved, others just sat at the PC the whole time and created projects or worked on 3D models. Everyone could have fun as they wanted.
I learned some skills on how to restore old windows. I learned that when making a replacement part for an old frame you can't make it totally symmetrical, because the old frame has twisted and warped over time. The part needs to be measured more precise with every differences in size taken in account.
I could try the shaper myself and work on PC new programs.
How well did the exchange program work for you while in Copenhagen?
Very good.
Of course we encountered some difficulties but that's part of the process as well and there was always somebody who was able to help and so I learned quite a lot.
It was real Nice.
We were in Copenhagen, but i found it to be a Very entertaining and learnful experience.
I was one of the best weeks in the Erasmus programm, Kopenhagen is a lovely city, I enjoy to hang around with all these nice colleagues, unfortunately this was our last activity, hopefully we`ll meet once again at any time to start a new program.
It was realy good.
I find it interesting. It press my understanding of my work and take me to the limits of my skills as planer and teacher.
everything went very well.
I think it was a very positive experience with students from different nations. Sometimes it is a little challenging to communicate so that everyone is on the same page but we’ve managed to do it in the time given.
Really nice organized and kind people, good work atmosphere.
The program for students was quite good and the same for the teachers. We worked in teams very good together. Very nice trip to the royal joinery workshop and they explained very good, how they renovate old furnitures for the king or the queen.
It worked very well for me.
It was such a great time. The Hosts are amazing and did a awesome job in organising the whole week from the Workday to the social activities!
I met a lot of new people and acquired new skills!
the program was very organized, we had the chance to learn new skills and met a lot of other students from different countries. it was fun to get to know them and learn about their way of working.
Excellent! It was a very friendly, almost familiar relationship. This contributed to a great working atmosphere, so that it was possible to work purposefully with a lot of calm. It was a lot of fun. Super!
The program worked very well in practical arrangements (accommodation, food) and as a learning platform.
It was an interesting job and the technologies we discovered. Program of wendsday was great. Work with shaper was perfect.
We managed but I personally was not satisfied with the frame that we finished. The workplace we were provided was a room for sanding with suction tables. Working there was unnecessary challenge because the parts and the tools kept dropping into the table holes. An actual bench hall reserved for us would have been nice. It was also frustrating that we weren't provided with enough tools. There were no basic tools (a box of blunt chisels and miscellaneous tools were brought to the room) needed for woodwork available in the sanding room. The gluing of the frame was also confusing since we weren't told if we can glue the parts in the sanding room or is there a specific place for that. The glue was also something we had to go look for. The arrangements for work felt a bit half-assed unfortunately.
Visiting the museum etc was done in a too strict timetable.
It was an experience. A wonderful visit to the Queen's carpentry workshop.
List any proposals you have which might enhance the program for future participants.
The design museum and the royal carpentry were amazing! It was really interesting to get a view behind the curtains. I would have just liked a bit more time in the museum.
Nothing to say.It was à great job.
I think a more simple and straightforward program would be more satisfying.
I don't have any proposals, it was really good.
Maybe teach students with the shaper.
it was a pleasure to be a part of the project - if it`s possible start a new one!!!
Maybe more pre-information about the 3d-printer the school is having. The files it is using and so on.
Nothing to add. everything is nicely organized.
maybe some deadlines would have been nice because in the end we didn’t have time to do the salt and pepper trays because we’ve been to slow before.
It’s really interesting to learn how other countries work and how it is to be a carpenter in other countries. The people are kind and it’s a really refreshing nice trip. You also don’t have to be afraid if your Englisch isnt that good :)
It was very good, maybe a bit more practice.
More time for working in the workshop.
Would be nice to get the software running in English so that we can get easier in touch with it.
I enjoyed every aspect of the week. Very well planned, engaging and packed with new information. Learning about new possibilities working with CNC in combination with recreating new profiled pieces.
It really focuses on different skills like team work, communication in an other languages and expanding your knowledge on carpentry.
Is there a better way? I don't think so.
I would prefer an official dinner sooner in the week to get to know others.
However, there were big delays for the students and they often had nothing to do and were bored. I would recommend creating a more complex project. For example, creating a renovated window and the second one, maybe a completely new one.
Better planning on how the work is done. Make a list of the steps needed in the work and test it. Some of us have never done any restoration work so the process can be confusing. Provide the tools more clearly or mark them in a map so the students don't have to ask and search for everything.
A little more work for the students.
Please share any other comments you have which are not covered in this evaluation:
Everything was perfect.
Social activities were great and learn from other students.
The group of students and teachers was simply amazing and I am really thankful for the opportunity I've gotten to be here.
It was a very great pleasure to see the royal workshop. I would say the dream for each joiner.
I think it was a great time, but next time I would recommend investing a bit more time on the social activities.
Thx for this week, it was really good.
The erasmus went very well. But i think that the workplan was not so good that it can be.
Maybe more detailed info about the tasks for teachers.
I suggest more focus on professional language.
This is a great way to bring together practices from different countries in the field of furniture carpentry.
Ecspecially the Day trip was a highlight.
Thank you, it was a great week in a very beautiful city with a lovely carpentry workshop.
Very nice trip on Wednesday to the Danish Design Museum, to the royal joinery wood workshop and the company, that explain the advantages of using sustainable materials to build houses (Havnens hænder).
A particular strength of this project week was the planned activities and the great support from the hosts. You can celebrate yourselve for this very successful end to the project!
I recommend this program to anyone who is interested in broading both their cultural perspective and joinery skills!
i have no other comment.
Is all good.
It was a super week getting to know new people and sharing knowledge and working routines.
Thank you very much for organizing another great project. You fully dedicated yourself to us and prepared us. I would just say a small thing about the organization. At times I felt that we didn't know what to do. The freedom at the beginning was great, but before I got used to it, it was already Thursday and only then did I start creating something. I'm not used to being able to move freely around a workshop in another school and take the material wherever I want. But that's more of a problem with my internal attitude.
Thank you very much, I really enjoyed it here. You also gave us a lot of advice on trips and you took great care of us.
The teachers and the students were all very friendly and helpful. The program has good intentions but the execution is lacking.
Thank you to the organizers for the great program this week. Beautiful weather and the whole week was well organized. I'm glad I was able to try out new technologies that we don't have here yet. Thank you very much.
